ARIZONA TRIVIA
What was James Addison Reavis better known as? |
Last week’s trivia question was, ‘What town is sometimes referred to as Arizona’s “Billion Dollar Copper Camp?’ The correct answer Jerome.
Jerome overlooks the entire Verde Valley with views equal to that of the Grand Canyon. Jerome would prove to be one of the richest mining camps in the world, often being called the Billion Dollar Copper Camp. (link)

HISTORY
Did you know Del Webb owned the New York Yankees?
I didn’t! He was part of a group who owned the Yankees during one of the greatest runs in professional team sports. They purchased the team in 1945 and owned the team for 20 years, during which they played in 15 World Series, winning 10 of them.
I learned this and so much more about his diverse career during my first visit to the Del Webb Sun Cities Museum. I enjoyed it so much that I became a member, and I’m looking forward to another visit and looking through the extensive archives they have on their website. If you haven’t been, you need to go and experience it for yourself.

ODDS & ENDS
As the weather warms and days lengthen, adjust your irrigation timer to water more frequently. Be sure to run your system long enough to wet the top two feet of soil. Deep, infrequent watering is much better than a daily sprinkle.

Another beautiful image from my friend & local photographer, Bruce Donaldson. He captured this shot of baby owls this week in Arrowhead Ranch in Glendale.
