Thank you for your patience as I took a step back from weekly publishing. I wish it had been more of a break, and while I did get to spend six days in Colorado, life was still plenty hectic.

~Bashas’ has been a go-to grocery stop in Sun City West for years, but the store has announced it will soon be closing. For many residents, it’s been more than just a place to shop, it’s been part of the daily routine and a friendly neighborhood spot. The news has folks wondering what will move into the space next and how it will change shopping options nearby.

The store will be closing on September 26, 2025.

~Sun City West resident Kristine Hayes Nibler has plenty to wag about, she and her trio of dogs recently reached the highest level of the AKC Trick Dog program. From complex routines to crowd-pleasing stunts, Kristine’s teamwork with her pups shows the power of patience, practice, and a whole lot of love for our four-legged friends.

~New Bullshooter dartboards were installed last week at the Bell Center in Sun City. 🎯

~Sun City has announced their new Sundial Fall ticketed concert series. Ticket sales begin on September 2nd, with the first show being held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, with a performance by Liza & Judy. (link)

[Sun City] This week’s movie is ‘WICKED LITTLE LETTERS’, starring Olivia Coleman & Jessie Buckley. Showtimes are Wednesday 8/20 at 2pm & 7pm at the Marinette Rec Center & Saturday 8/23 at 2pm & 7pm at the Fairway Music Room.

[Sun City] As part of Sun City’s Hot Fun “Outta the Sun” Events, come out for the SMARTY PANTS ADULT TRIVIA GAME, being held on Wednesday, August 20th from 6-8pm. No tickets needed, and seating is first come first served. Show is at the Sundial Auditorium.

[Sun City West] The new Pavilion Grill, located inside the Sports Pavilion, will be hosting its grand opening on Saturday, August 23rd

[Sun City West] Movie Night at the Stardust Theatre is off this week, but will be back next week with a showing of OPPENHEIMER on Thursday, AUGUST 28TH at 6pm. (link)

[Sun City West] Another Talk with the Team session with RSCSW Management will be held on Monday, August 25th at 830-930am in the Village Meeting Room.

Upcoming Events 

[Sun City] Friday Night Social Dance Club - is inviting RCSC Members, and their guests, to attend a Free Dance on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., with lessons starting at 6:15 p.m. The event will be held at the Sundial Recreation Center Auditorium located at 14801 N. 103rd Dr.

[Sun City] Save the Date for the Sun City Royal Autumn Ball, to be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at the Sundial Auditorium.

[Sun City West] Happy Hour BASH is returning to Sun City West at 3pm on Wenesday, September 24, 2025, with a performance by the Jeff Sullivan Trio at the Palm Ridge Recreation Center. (link)

[Surprise] Surprise Farmer’s Market, every Sunday from 3-7pm. A weekly market featuring fresh local ingredients, homemade goods, and artisanal crafts from nearby farms and ranches. (link & map)
