ARIZONA TRIVIA
What is the name of the mountain peaks that are home to the Navajo & Hopi Gods? |
Last week’s trivia question was ‘What is the name of Arizona’s so-called “Lost County?” The answer was, Pah-Ute.
In 1865, the Arizona Territorial Legislature created Pah-Ute County in the far northwest corner of the territory. Just a year later, Congress shifted the land west of the Colorado River to Nevada. Despite Arizona’s protests, the transfer became permanent in 1867. By 1871, Pah-Ute County was dissolved, and its former lands are now part of Clark County, Nevada. Today, locals remember it as Arizona’s “Lost County.”

August Market Update

What happened in the real estate markets in the Sun Cities in August?
The seasonality of summer is kicking in and the market is a bit slow, which is normal for this time of year. There is a larger trend across all three communities, that I am also seeing in other parts of the Valley, seeing fewer sales than in 2024, and slightly lower prices.
Does this mean that home prices are going down? Small drops in average sold price can sometimes be deceiving, and when it does go down it can simply mean that more lower priced homes are selling.
Last week, mortgage interest rates reached their lowest point in the past 11 months, so it will be interesting to see what impact this may have on the Sun City markets as we head into fall & winter.
