🌸 Easter Celebrations & bad teeth 🦷

This week in the Sun City Communities

TOGETHER WITH

It has been a challenging week at Sun City Scoop headquarters. I had to have a tooth extracted on Monday and it got the best of me until this morning. It nearly took a crow bar to get the darn thing out and I paid the price 😬. I’m finally pain free, but still looking like a chipmunk from the swelling.

I apologize for this week’s newsletter being an abbreviated version, and a couple days late. Things will be back on schedule for next week with a full newsletter. 🙏

Enjoy the cooler weather this weekend!

Thank you for being here, have a great week! If you are feeling kind, forward this email to a neighbor so they can enjoy the Sun City Scoop 😎

Last week’s trivia question was, ‘Who Was the Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist who entertained Arizona Republic readers for over three decades?’ The correct answer Reg Manning.

I realized once the newsletter was sent out, that Charles Schulz was also a correct answer as I’m sure the Peanuts cartoon was in the paper for that same amount of time. The question was not worded very well, which was a mistake on my part. My apologies…

Reg Manning was born in Kansas City, Missouri, but he came to live in Phoenix, Arizona. Manning's only art training occurred during high school. After graduating, Manning worked as a freelancer. In 1926, The Arizona Republic hired Manning as a photographer and artist. At first, Manning's work appeared in several forms in the paper. Although he was interested in drawing comic strips, the popularity of his editorial work led him to focus on editorial cartoons. His work was syndicated in as many as 170 newspapers. (link)
