COMMUNITY NEWS

~The first Cinnabon Swirl location in Arizona is now open, at the corner of Happy Valley Road & Lake Pleasant Road, in Peoria. Cinnabon Swirl offers unique mashup dessert items unavailable anywhere else, using cinnamon rolls and soft serve ice cream from Carvel. (link)
~Interested in running for the Board of Directors for Reacreation Centers of Sun City? Candidate Packets are available at the Corporate Office at Lakeview Recreation Center. Packets must be picked up in person and you must present your valid RCSC Member Card.
The RCSC Elections Committee invites any Member with questions about serving on the Board - including the duties, responsibilities, and time commitment required - to attend an upcoming Candidate Information Meeting on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. The session will be from 3:00 to 5:00pm in Lakeview Social Hall #2 and registration is required by calling 623-561-4600.
~Craving a burger, and want to try something different? Shake Shack has opened it’s Surprise location at the Loop 303 & Waddell Road. (link & map)
If you have never been to Shake Shack, their burgers are worth the trip. Their food is similar to In-n-Out, only their fries are actually good. 😲😎

[Sun City West] Stardust Theater Movie Night is showing SEPTEMBER 5, featuring Peter Sarsgaard, Thursday, June 5th at 630pm. (link)
[Sun City] The Sundial 2025 Summer Concert Series continues this week, as part of Sun City’s Hot Fun “Outta the Sun” Events. Come Back Buddy, a 50s Rock N’ Roll band, will be performing on Wednesday, June 4th from 430-730pm.

[Sun City West] Beginning June 6th, the Sun City West Friday market is moving indoors for the summer. You will find them every Friday from 9am-1pm, at the Briarwood Country Club. (link & map)

[Sun City West] Desert Dixie will be performing on Wednesday, June 11th, at 5pm, as part of the Sun City West Sizzling Summer Series. (link)
[Sun City] On Wednesday, June 11, at the Sundial Recreation Center, RSCS will hose The Circus Farm. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the one-hour show beginning at 6 p.m. The Circus Farm is a family friendly show with a twist: the show includes LED light props, aerial work, a unicycle, a stilt walker, walking globe, juggling and more. [Sun City] The Sun City Ukulele Club is hosting an orientation for potential new members on Thursday, June 12th at 130pm. This is your chance to learn about the club, learn a few chords and sing some songs. No previous experience needed. Ukuleles will be provided for those who do not have one. (link)

[Sun City West] Every Thursday through May, Photography West ‘The Camera Club of Sun City West’ hosts a brief club meeting & member presentations featuring their own photography. (link)
[Sun City West] Sun City West Farmers Market & Craft Show. Every Friday from 9am-2pm. Open to the public & pet friendly. (link & map)
[Surprise] Surprise Farmer’s Market, every Sunday from 3-7pm. A weekly market featuring fresh local ingredients, homemade goods, and artisanal crafts from nearby farms and ranches. (link & map)
[Sun City] The Royal Oaks Art Gallery announces a new show with 30 artists from the area, including Sun City and Sun City West. The show begins April 1 and runs until June 30th. The display is located inside the Royal Oaks care facility at 10015 W. Royal Oak Road. The show and reception are free and open to the public, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. daily.
[Sun City] Lakeview United Methodist Church in Sun City, has announced the menus for their TNT meal & fellowship program. Thursday Nights Together will be held each Thursday in June. Chef prepared meals are $8 per person, $9 per person for meals to go. Reservations are required, and can be made by calling (623) 974-5821. (link)
