COMMUNITY NEWS

~The Arizona Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) and the cities of Peoria and Surprise, is studying a potential new traffic interchange on Loop 303 between US 60 and El Mirage Road. This potential new interchange would address growing traffic demand and high traffic volumes in the area, and alleviate some of the congestion at the existing US 60/Loop 303 traffic interchange and US 60/163rd Ave intersection.

ADOT is seeking public feedback on the alternatives through an online survey at azdot.gov/Loop303TIAlternativesSurvey

~The City of Peoria is hosting an open house to discuss the extension of El Mirage Road from the Loop 303 to Happy Valley Road. The open house is at 6pm on February 26th at Lake Pleasant Elementary. (link)

~Gas prices are up again over the past week. Per AAA, the average price for a gallon of gas in Maricopa County was $3.62. $.21 above the average in Arizona and $.48 above the national average. How high will they go? (link)

~The three Sun City Lions Clubs are once again delivering phone books to Sun City residents. Keep an eye out for your copy. Call 802-349-9749 for more information.

~Pet owners, a large microchip company has closed their doors, and you may need to re-register your pet’s microchip. (link)

~Sun City West Recreation Centers have implemented its new Guest Pass program utilizing wristbands to be worn by guests. The program is intended to ease the process of monitoring guests and provide easier access to facilities. (link)

The resident clubs are what make the Sun City communities so special, but there are literally hundreds of them and sharing all of the different club meeting & events in the newsletter is more than I can handle. It would be a mile long!!! 🤣
