~Online voting ends this Thursday, March 27th for the Sun City West Governing Board Elections. If you would like to vote in person, you may do so from 9am-3pm on Monday, March 31st at the RH Johnson Data Resource Center. (link)

~Spring Fest in Sun City West is coming up next week, on it’s rescheduled days, Monday, March 31st & Wednesday, April 2nd. (link)

~RCSCW Food Truck Festival is being held on Tuesday, April 1st. Beardsley Park will be rockin’ and rollin’ with some great entertainment from musical groups Dawson Acoustic and the Thaddeus Rose Band as the Rec Centers’ present their Food Truck Festival from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 1.

Gates for the event open at 4 p.m. Dawson Acoustic will get the music started when they take the stage from 5 to 6:30 p.m. followed by the Thaddeus Rose Band from 7 to 8:30 p.m. (link)

~Last chance to register to be part of the Spring 2025 Sun City Day of Service. The inaugural event was quite successful and they have exciting plans for the event on Thursday, April 4th, from 7am-12pm. (link)

[Sun City West] The Sun City West Garden Club is hosting a plant sale this Thursday (and every Thursday through May) from 9am-12pm, at the Beardsley Recreation Center

[Sun City West] Every Thursday through May, Photography West ‘The Camera Club of Sun City West’ hosts a brief club meeting & member presentations featuring their own photography. (link)

[Sun City West] Sun City West Farmers Market & Craft Show. Every Friday from 9am-2pm. Open to the public & pet friendly. (link & map)

[Surprise] Surprise Farmer’s Market, every Sunday from 3-7pm. A weekly market featuring fresh local ingredients, homemade goods, and artisanal crafts from nearby farms and ranches. (link & map)

[Sun City] This week’s movie is ‘Mending the Line’ featuring Perry Mattfield, Sinqua Walls & Brian Cox. Showtimes are Wednesday 3/27 at 2pm & 7pm at the Marinette Rec Center & Saturday 3/29 at 2pm & 7pm at the Fairway Music Room. (link)

[Sun City] Voyager, the Journey tribute band, will be performing on Wednesday, March 26th, as part of the Sun City Ticketed Concert Series at the Sundial Auditorium. (link)

[Sun City West] Stardust Theater Movie Night is showing Noah, featuring Russell Crow, Thursday, March 27th at 630pm. (link)

[Sun City] Doing Grief is hosting Playing with Color! at 1230pm on Thursday, March 27th. at the Banner Olive Branc Senior Center. Spots are limited and registration is required. (link)

[Sun City West] Munchie Mondays with Munchkins is scheduled for upcoming Mondays (April 7th and 21st) at the R.H. Johnson Library’s parking lot. Bring the grandkids out and enjoy food trucks, activities such as parades and a dunk tank, and get to meet and learn about the Chartered Clubs here in Sun City West as they’ll be invited to schedule with the Rec Centers to host a booth at these events. [Sun City West] Tickets are now on sale for the Sun City West Food Truck Festival on Tuesday, April 1st. Live music provided by Dawson Acoustic & Thaddeus Rose Band. (link)

[Sun City] The Salt River Brass will be performing at the American Lutheran Church on Sunday, April 13th. (link)

[Sun City West] Easter in the Park will be held on Saturday, April 19th at Beardsley Park. Tickets are free but each child must have one, registration begins on March 4th. (link)

[Sun City] Registration is open for the Midnight Madness golf tournament on Saturday, April 12th at the Lakes East Golf Course. (link)

[Sun City] Sun City Resident Orientation. Join the Sun City Home Owners Association (SCHOA), the Condominium Owners Association of Sun City (COA) and the Recreation Centers of Sun City (RCSC) for a joint Sun City Resident Orientation. Learn about your unique community, how things work and who is responsible for what. This program will be held by Wednesday, April 23rd. (link)

[Sun City] The Long Range Planning Committee is seeking volunteers that are Sun City residents and members in good standing, especially members who have City Planning and/or Masterplan experience, to serve on the committee. Please contact Jim Rough at [email protected]

Hospice Promise is seeking volunteers for its Volunteer Program.

Our Hospice volunteers offer patients who are at end of life, and their families, comfort, support, and companionship. Hospice Promise volunteers are men and women of all ages and backgrounds, offering services to patients in their homes, nursing homes, group homes, wherever the patient calls home.

I’m super excited about this section of the newsletter. The history of these communities is something I enjoy and I look forward to sharing more and more details from the Del Webb Sun Cities Museum, and the local people I have met.
